When the kids are small, we like to see them pretty young, somewhere between two and four years old depending on the child, we have them come in, we give them a ride in the chair, we let them play with some of the buttons in the treatment room. We count their teeth, we may use a little special fluoride toothpaste but the main goal is for them to meet us, like our staff and like our office, and this so that they have a pleasurable experience so that they are always willing to come into the office. We do whatever we can to make them excellent dental patients for the rest of their lives. We start out slow with them, we explain things to them, we may play some games with them. We are always going to shake their hands or give them five, and we want to make sure that they understand this is a place of friendly people that they can count on to help them.
