Some other cases we have a lot of issues with the gum tissue and this is the kind of case where we used the laser to help re-contour things because even if you have nice teeth put on on there, there are some issues with the gums that do not look very desirable so we use a gum treatment with our laser to re-contour the tissue. It is very nice, very easy, almost painfree and it makes a dramatic difference and not only the teeth look better but the gums have changed completely and it makes the case much more pleasant to look at but more importantly it makes the work last with the changing of the gums as a great improvement in the health of the tissues. For other reasons, people have smiles that are not so good. Sometimes the teeth are worn with time. What we try to do is provide the correct tooth proportion so that when they smile, it looks pleasing and natural. We try to give the tooth a more youthful appearance with normal contours and make the lengths proportional to the face. So we try and look at the face, the width and height of the face, and then we make teeth that suit that individual. In this case, we did almost no preparation at all with the teeth. All we did was roughened the surface of the teeth without anesthetic, took impressions, send them to the lab and then we cement these and then they turn out real nice. So in two visits with no discomfort in this case, we can cement teeth that look very very nice. When the patients see this, it makes their choice to do a cosmetic dentistry real easy because they think they have come to the right place and they think we know what we are doing.
