Cosmetic dentistry today is wonderful. We have choices today in improving someone’s smile that we never dreamed of having a few years ago. If the patient wants to do cosmetic treatment, we will put the patient in here and let them watch the slide show. What the slide show is, are cases that we have done, all of them in this office from start to finish. We give them before and after photos from each angle so that they can see what the patient looks like in real life. We use the morphing kind of effect there and the reason we do that is because we want patients to understand the significant changes that are made with really quite minor treatment. In a lot of cases like this, this is just a bonding that has been done on the teeth and we can show them that in just really pretty much a single visit, we can get a dramatic result like that. We use lab made porcelain veneers which are probably the best way to do a smile rehabilitation. In those cases, we show the patient how we prepare the teeth and how we use temporaries and how the lab is used. Some cases like this one, where the patient has congenitally missing teeth so from birth she was missing two teeth and she had had orthodontic treatment done to help close some spaces which she had and then she just wanted her smile to be a little bit brighter, little bit whiter, and a little bit more natural in appearance. So these are lab made porcelain veneers done with almost no tooth preparation and with no anesthetic either. She said that she got a great smile and a very nice result.
