Case 1: 6. Implants
Implants are often the best option for replacing missing teeth. ................. In this case the front two teeth were lost from trauma, a graft done to replace lost tissue, and two implants were placed. Implants are a surgical grade titanium in the shape of a tooth root and are carefully positioned in a location similar to the original position of the missing tooth. In this case custom abutments were placed into the implants and then porcelain crowns were made. The result is a very natural look that is cemented in place. With proper brushing and cleaning the chances of long term success is good if trauma, clenching, and grinding can be controlled. Smoking should be avoided and good overall health will increase long term implant survival.
