What We Teach

Dr. Griffin considers it a genuine honor to be invited to speak with many dental colleagues and their staff on various topics over the years. He is a humble teacher who is willing to share what he has learned in digital photography, marketing, PowerPoint, practice management, CEREC® 3D restorations, and the latest in cosmetic dentistry techniques. His teaching is interactive, fast-paced, and very entertaining.

"Excellence in Digital Photography." A Great Way to Become a Better Dentist.

"Excellence in Digital Photography" has been a very popular and highly rated interactive educational experience. Every participant is ensured to leave with a thorough understanding of the latest in photographic materials, equipment, and techniques used to become excellent in dental digital photography. Not only are current camera systems covered in detail, but more importantly, how to use great photographic skills to become better and more confident with cosmetic dentistry.

Photography will form the basis for patient evaluation, preparation guide, and restoration evaluation during and after treatment. This will lead to increased efficiency with the dentistry we like to do. We can then take these skills to promote within the practice by office portfolio development and digital presentation software, PowerPoint, to convince the patient they are in the right place to have their cosmetic dentistry done. Then we can take these heightened esthetic skills to market to those seeking excellent services outside the practice. Becoming better at dentistry and having patients want the dentistry we like to do is what it is all about.

"CEREC® - The latest and greatest in chairside CAD/CAM restorations"

"CEREC® - The latest and greatest in chairside CAD/CAM restorations" is a course covering the fastest growing part of restorative dentistry. CAD/CAM restorations have gained great momentum because of advancement in the computer software which designs the porcelain as well as the ceramic materials themselves. Dr. Griffin has been involved with CEREC® CAD/CAM restoration education for many years as head of the Greater St. Louis area CEREC® study club. He has been privileged to teach this system to hundreds of dentists at study clubs and national meetings. Basic concepts of this system for posterior restorations as well as customization of anterior teeth are covered in a very clear, entertaining fashion. The concepts for digital impressions and CAD/CAM porcelain are only beginning in popularity and will for the basis for restorative care in the future.

Dr. Griffin would be honored to talk with anyone about dental education, courses, and interactive lectures. He has been fortunate enough to have over 20 articles published in major dental journals. Please feel free to visit the links on this page to see some of those recently published. He can be contacted through the link on this site and would be honored to discuss any of them with you. He has taught for the AGD MasterTrack program, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Society for Dental Aesthetics, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Center for Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry, and many other groups.

The lectures and treatment philosophy are intended to give course participants the confidence and training that leads to dentistry as seen throughout this website. Dr. Griffin never claims perfection in his dentistry nor in his teaching but he pursues both with the same, uncompromising passion and zeal.
